Capturing Creativity: My Mystery Stamping Card for the End-of-Year Creative Stampers Event

The end of the year is a time for reflection, celebration, and—of course—crafting! As part of the Creative Stampers December 2024 Team End-of-Year Mystery Stamping session, I took on the challenge presented during our live Zoom meeting and created a card that embodies warmth, texture, and thoughtful design. With Angela Palmer’s clear instructions guiding the way, this project was both a delightful surprise and a rewarding creative experience.

Following Angela’s Mystery Stamping Blueprint

Angela Palmer’s detailed email instructions provided the perfect foundation for my card. Here’s the breakdown of what I used, along with the precise measurements that made this design come to life:

ardstock & Paper Selection with My Featured Supplies

  • Patterned Paper/Designer Series Paper (DSP): Reindeer Memories Scrapbooking Workshop Kit (Retired 2025) – Cut to 6.5cm x 11.5cm (vertical)
  • Coloured cardstock: Early Espresso21cm x 14.85cm, scored at 10.5cm
  • Cardstock (same colour as card base): Basic White10cm x 14.3cm
  • Contrasting coloured cardstock: Pecan Pie7cm x 9cm (or similar height as the circle, 9cm long)
  • Die-cut or punched circle: Layering Circles Dies – Approx. 7cm in diameter, cut from Basic White cardstock, ensuring a strong contrast with the 7cm x 9cm piece
  • Embossing Folder: Basics 3D Embossing Folders (Retired 161598) – Adding depth and texture to the background
  • Main stamped image: Humble Home Photopolymer Stamp Set (Retired 2025) – Used for the house scene inside the circle
  • Sentiment & Scrap Cardstock:
  • Sentiment stamped on Basic White Cardstock (Approx. 1.5cm x 5cm)
  • Card insert: Basic White Cardstock – 10cm x 14.3cm, plus extra scrap for sentiment

Final Touches & Embellishments

  • Ink Selection: Pecan Pie, Early Espresso – Used for both the sentiment and main image stamping
  • Background stamping: Flowers, stars, or pattern stamped with VersaMark or Pecan Pie ink for added depth
  • Embellishments: Iridescent Foil Gems cardstock – For a festive, shimmering finish
  • Ribbon or Twine, Adhesives & Tools:
  • Stampin’ Dimensionals for depth
  • Paper Snips, Scissors, and a Die-Cutting Machine for precision

These elements worked together seamlessly, allowing me to follow Angela’s instructions while adding my own creative flair. The combination of texture, layering, and warm, earthy tones created a card that truly captures the holiday spirit!
