Hoots of Encouragement: A Card That Speaks to Courage

As an Independent Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, I find joy in creating cards that blend creativity with heartfelt sentiments. Today, I’m excited to share a card that embodies both artistry and encouragement—a delightful creation using the Adorable Owls and Sending Support stamp sets from Stampin’ Up!’s Sale-a-bration event (January–February 2023).

This card features a charming owl, perched with wisdom, alongside the uplifting message: “Courage is being really scared and doing it anyway.” With its dotted texture and soft nature-inspired hues, this card serves as a gentle reminder that bravery isn’t about fearlessness—it’s about pushing forward despite our doubts.

Crafting the Card

To bring this card to life, I started by embossing the Basic White cardstock with the Basics 3D Embossing Folder, adding subtle texture reminiscent of delicate raindrops—a fitting backdrop for the courageous owl. Layering the Dainty Flowers DSP, I created a soft contrast, drawing in nature’s gentle beauty.

Using Memento Ink, I stamped the owl and sentiment, ensuring crisp lines that highlight every detail. A splash of Granny Apple Green brings freshness and energy, subtly reinforcing the theme of growth and resilience. Finally, hobnail-glass dots add a finishing touch, lending a hint of charm and dimension.
