Cracking the Case: Linda Unveils the Mystery Stamping Technique in Caron’s Craft Room on 29th January 2024
The thrill of mystery and creativity collided when I joined In Da Craft Room, an online crafting event hosted by Sweets Stampin Creations. Led by Caron, an independent Stampin’ Up! demonstrator based in the USA, this live YouTube session was an engaging mix of fun, laughter, and hands-on creativity. Guided by clues throughout the event, I embarked on a stamping adventure that culminated in a beautifully designed Easel Card.
A Journey into the Unknown
Mystery stamping is an exciting challenge that encourages crafters to trust the process. Without knowing the final project at the outset, I followed Caron’s prompts and built my creation one step at a time. The anticipation made every stage more thrilling, and watching the card take shape felt like solving a crafty puzzle.
Using the Wild Ferns stamp set from the Mini Catalogue (January–April 2024) and The Fern 3D Embossing Folder from the Annual Catalogue (May 2023–April 2024), I developed a nature-inspired design with a rich color palette. The earthy tones of Wild Wheat and Cajun Craze paired beautifully, creating depth and warmth in the final piece.

Colors & Techniques I Used
For this project, I selected the following materials:
Stamp Set: Stampin’ Up! Wild Ferns Bundle (Stamps & Dies)
Ink:
✔ Wild Wheat
✔ Cajun Craze
✔ Mossy Meadow (possibly!)
Cardstock:
✔ Basic White
✔ Wild Wheat
✔ Cajun Craze
Designer Series Paper (DSP):
Rather than using pre-designed DSP, I created my own! I used Sponge Daubers on white cardstock, blending Wild Wheat and Cajun Craze ink for a unique, soft-textured background.
Final Thoughts
Mystery stamping is an experience every crafter should try—it’s a fantastic way to expand your creative confidence while connecting with fellow craft lovers. “In Da Craft Room” was the perfect place to experiment with new techniques, and I can’t wait to join more events like this.
Have you ever tried mystery stamping? If not, I highly recommend giving it a go—you never know what masterpiece you’ll create!
