This beautifully handcrafted card was created by Joanne Whittaker as part of a January 2026 swap using products from the January–April 2026 Mini Catalogue.
The design highlights the Simply Beautiful Bundle from the Lovely & Beautiful Suite Collection, paired with the Hearts of Love 3D Embossing Folder from the Made With Love Suite Collection.
From the moment you see it, the layering, colour blending, and subtle shimmer immediately draw you in.
This card features a thoughtfully framed layout, with Highland Heather cardstock creating a strong outer border that adds depth and richness to the overall design.
The layered floral focal point was created using the Simply Beautiful dies, and Joanne has shared exactly how she achieved the beautiful petal shading.
She cut the flower petals from Basic White cardstock, then coloured them using Fresh Freesia ink applied with a dauber. To create deeper definition around the edges, she gently turned each petal over and very lightly pressed the outer edges onto the Highland Heather ink pad.
Joanne mentioned her ink pad wasn’t heavily inked, which actually worked in her favour — giving a softer, more controlled edge without harsh lines.
The yellow centre of the flower was created using Lemon Lolly, providing a fresh pop of colour that brightens the entire design.
This simple but clever two-step technique creates natural depth and variation, making the layered petals feel almost lifelike.

The gold foil detailing in the paper adds elegance and ties beautifully with the soft blending on the flower.
The embossed background adds subtle texture, while the raised flower creates striking visual contrast against the patterned paper.
“Thinking of You” — stamped in Memento Black, fussy cut using Paper Snips, and popped up with Dimensionals for emphasis.
I especially love how Joanne framed the card with Highland Heather — it grounds the lighter tones and gives the design that finished, professional look.
Inside, the card is finished with coordinating Lovely & Beautiful DSP and a stamped floral detail, leaving ample space for a handwritten message while keeping the design cohesive.
This design is perfect for thinking of you, encouragement, or heartfelt occasions. The hand-coloured petals, softly defined edges, and elegant gold accents create depth without heaviness.
It feels refined, intentional, and truly handmade — a card that feels as special to receive as it was to create.
