Nature’s Palette: June 2024 Card Swap

Created by Linda Barnes

As part of the Sweets Signatures Stampin’ Card Swap Group, I crafted this card using the Encircled in Nature Photopolymer Stamp Set, blending intricate nature-inspired imagery with a balanced, thoughtful layout. The color palette—Pretty Peacock, Lost Lagoon, Moody Mauve, and Basic Beige—reflects the calming hues of natural landscapes, making this design both serene and striking.

Card Layout and Design Elements

I began with a Lost Lagoon card base, layering it with a Basic Beige panel that I enhanced using the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder (or Timber 3D Embossing Folder). At the heart of the composition, two circular cutouts, bordered in Pretty Peacock and Moody Mauve, frame delicate tree silhouettes that evoke the tranquility of forest scenery. These elements work together to create a visually engaging design, drawing the eye naturally across the card.

To add movement and texture, I carefully placed Adhesive-Backed Dragonflies & Birds throughout the layout. The metallic finish of these embellishments adds depth and elegance, with the bird accents symbolizing freedom while the dragonflies introduce a whimsical touch. Positioned strategically near the stamped tree imagery, these embellishments bring an extra dimension to the card’s natural theme.

At the bottom, a layered sentiment cutout prominently features the words “Thank You” in Pretty Peacock, grounding the design while harmonizing the color scheme. Every element is arranged with care, ensuring a refined and heartfelt final piece that resonates with warmth and appreciation.

Through this card swap, I hope to share a bit of nature’s beauty with the recipient—bringing joy and inspiration with every detail.
