Nature’s Serenity: An Offset Gatefold Card by Tammy Reynolds

I am excited to feature an amazing Offset Gatefold card made by Tammy Reynolds for the Donna G Partner Handmade Card Swap, organised by the Stamping with DonnaG! Handmade Card Swap Private Group. Tammy was my partner for the May Monochromatic swap. To create this beautiful card, she used the Stampin’ Up! “Thoughtful Journey” suite collection, including Thoughtful Wishes stamps and dies, and the Thoughtful Journey 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper (DSP). She also used the Nested Essentials dies from Stampin’ Up! to add intricate details.

The front of the card is a testament to Tammy’s creativity and skill. It features a stunning nature-themed design with a soft, watercolour background from the Thoughtful Journey DSP. The dreamy sky effect is achieved by blending Peach Pie and Petunia Pop, creating a warm and inviting backdrop.

In the foreground, detailed foliage and delicate flowers appear in shades of Mossy Meadow, Pretty Peacock, and Blackberry Bliss. Accents of Calypso Coral and Wild Wheat add vibrant splashes of colour, enhancing the card’s overall appeal. In the centre, there’s a majestic tree painted in Lost Lagoon and Misty Moonlight, providing depth and a focal point to the scene. The Nested Essentials dies frame the tree with Mossy Meadow cardstock and DSP, adding a wow factor.

Scattered throughout the design are elements of Boho Blue, Cajun Craze, and Pool Party, which further enrich the card’s vibrant feel. The card is made of Mossy Meadow cardstock, with the DSP beautifully framed by Mossy Meadow, giving it a polished and finished look.

This Offset Gatefold card not only shows Tammy’s exceptional use of colours and elements but also highlights her meticulous attention to detail. The blending of colours and textures transforms this card into a miniature piece of art. It’s perfect for any occasion and is sure to captivate and inspire anyone who receives it.

Inside the card, there is a white panel with a floral design using the Thoughtful Wishes stamps. Tammy stamped the leaves in Mossy Meadow and added texture using dies to cut Mossy Meadow cardstock. She used markers in Wild Wheat, Petunia Pop, Misty Moonlight, and Boho Blue, sprayed with water using a spritzer to give a watercolour look. The “Happy Birthday” text is written in Mossy Meadow. The right side of the card has a scenic watercolour design with elements in Lost Lagoon, Misty Moonlight, Mossy Meadow, and Wild Wheat, adding continuity and depth to the theme.

The card’s interior sentiment reads, “Wishing you the happiest of birthdays!” in Mossy Meadow ink, adding a heartfelt touch to match the beautiful exterior. Tammy Reynolds has truly outdone herself with this creation, making it a standout piece in any collection. Whether displayed on a mantel or given as a heartfelt gift, this card is a beautiful example of the art of card making.
