I’m thrilled to share a glimpse into our January 2025 Team Swap, where the Creative Inkers came together to exchange inspiring, handcrafted cards.

During this creative exchange, each participant designed stunning pieces using products primarily from:

• The Annual Catalogue (May 2024–April 2025)
• The Mini Catalogue (Jan–April 2025) (unless stated otherwise)

Among these wonderful creations is a marvelous card by the talented Rhonda Fawcett, whose exceptional technique and artistry embody our shared passion for creativity and collaboration.

As a proud member of Creative Inkers, I find our swaps to be a wellspring of inspiration and learning. Every exchanged card is more than just paper and ink—it’s a conversation through technique, style, and storytelling.

How Does Our Team Swap Work?

Step 1: Sign-Up via Facebook

Each swap begins with a sign-up on our team’s private Facebook group, connecting enthusiastic crafters ready to create and share.

Step 2: Crafting & Card Submission

• Each participant designs 8 cards, showcasing their unique style and techniques.
• Cards are then sent to our swap coordinator, who organizes them into groups for fair distribution.

Step 3: Card Swap & Distribution

• Once sorted, each member receives 8 different cards—one from each participant.
• Self-addressed courier bags ensure smooth delivery while keeping costs manageable for the swap coordinator.

Even if someone chooses not to participate, the excitement, shared expertise, and community spirit make every swap a valuable learning experience.

A Closer Look at Rhonda’s Design

Front Design Features:

• Striking Color Palette: A vibrant mix of Azure Afternoon & Pumpkin Pie, softened by Basic Beige & Basic White accents.
• Intricate Detailing: Memento Black ink creates sharp outlines, while touches of Balmy Blue & Daffodil Delight enhance the vibrancy.
• Dynamic Elements:

• The Spotlight on Nature die and Blending Brushes die add layered texture.
• A circular stitched border frames the scene, reinforcing the card’s handmade charm.
• Playful orange accents with dashed outlines introduce movement and visual balance.

The Playful Seagull Scene:

The card features two lively seagulls on a sandy beach, engaged in a humorous exchange:
🦩 One seagull says… “CHIPS…”
🦩 The second responds… “CHIPS!”

A small red container, resembling a packet of fries, adds a whimsical touch—suggesting the birds are excitedly chatting about their next snack!

Inside the Card – A Sweet Surprise

The inside panel continues the playful theme with a cheerful seagull holding a bright yellow treat (chips, perhaps?).

Stamped in elegant typography, the sentiment “Hope your day is sweet” reinforces the warm and joyful essence of the design.

Softly blended blue and yellow hues create a serene backdrop, harmonizing beautifully with the front composition.

Final Thoughts

Rhonda’s card is a true masterpiece, blending technique, humor, and heartfelt creativity. From the lively seagull banter to the thoughtful ink blending, every detail elevates the experience—making it a joy to give and receive.
